Cannabilised some rubber off a worthless sigma zoom for the 135mm, and off a surplus 103A with fungus that I acquired for the mount for the 28mm and the aperture rings. For the 300mm I found some textured vinyl type material in my junk box.

Tried to take some pics of the lilies once the rain stopped with the 28mm and the 135mm. f5.6. Need to practice my flower photography but colours and resolution all pretty good.

I love DIY projects and it looks like you're quite handy at it. Nice job.... and some very nice images, too!

Wow, those colours are so vibrant! I'd be pretty happy with those! NOT good. I don't need another 135mm/fwhatevs. *backs away slowly*

There's replacement "body-wrap" material available that could add interesting options for the lenses.

I've salvaged material from discarded women's fancy purses too.

Great idea -- does that device to hold a dawg's head in place screw in or glue-on??

I am afraid you are quite mistaken pacerr. that device is called a leash and it is for the dog to control the human on the other end..

22A uneven/loose zoom movement

Usually the cause of this is worn/broken cam guides. Pic one shows the lens with the rubber grip and tape removed and the distance scale half of the zoom sleeve dropped down, exposing the cam slots. Pic 2 is a close up of the cam guides. They are small nuts with a collar and plastic sleeves. The plastic wears, splits and may even be missing. I cannabilised another 22A to replace. One lens improved a lot, the other is still loose - its going to need deeper disassembly.

Pretty much a standard item in most Tamron zoom lenses of that era IME -- and one of the prime parts to salvage from otherwise trashed lenses.

Not mush of a problem to replace them unless loose debris requires serious dis-assembly.

Only similar to the 22 -- and it's been a while -- pre-digital era.

My 80 - 210 isn't too sharp but since the moon was close to the earth tonight, I tried to get some shots.
It was cloudy with a slight breeze. Not sharp, I like cloud drift.

White Lilies #1

The late evening sun slanted across the garden and I thought to try again to get a good pic of the Lilies. Grabbed the first convenient and likely to be appropriate lens; a recently acquired 90mm 52BB. f5.6
