28mm f2.5 w/P/KA

Now I need to keep an eye out for a good deal on the SP 400mm F4......................or a 90mm 2.5, a 300mm 2.8, or that 70-150 2.8 that Mike P. just got, or the.......
That is a steal! Were you wanting the lens, the adapter, or both? I have the 28/2.5, but have never seen the box style case like you have. My case is cylindrical with the focal length and max. aperture embossed on the top.

The 28/2.5 is sort of a miniature wonder. I don't know if I have seen a more compact 28. It is pretty decent optically, with better than average sharpness (center and edge) and very low distortion. My experience has been that it really shines with 35mm film, but for some reason is not quite as impressive when used with the K10D.

70-150mm f2.8 soft arrived today, its truly in mint condition and a really nice lens.
Cost me the equivilent of 165 in USD which I thought was quite reasonable considering condition and it came boxed with case and PK mount.

I bought it for the adapter. I have had three but sold them but I want one to have around just in case I see a good deal. The adapters are expensive unless you keep your eye out for a deal like this. I seen the aperture pin on the side which gave it away but I quess nobody else noticed otherwise it would have turned out differently. I have had the 28mm before but really never played with it. I quess I am going have to take it out for a spin. I would like to get another 90 2.5 macro which I was the first macro I purchased but I am looking for a steal there also.
The case is a L-06 style but it doesn't have the FL embossed, just Tamron.

Mike P., lets see what that glass can do.

If you get a chance. Shoot the 28/2.5 on film. My experience has been that it falls a little flat with the cropped format.

Got myself an adapter today to go with the 70-150mm f2.8 here. Pretty good price for the PK/A. Will do some pics with the lens as soon as we get some sunshine .. bloody British summer ... pah.

Re: Tamron 80 to 210 CF Tele Macro f3.8/f4 103A

blue and seacapt,

I apologize for taking so long to respond.

Thank you both for your suggestions.

I really didn't want to send it out as I preferred to repair it myself.

After rolling tthe rubber sleeve back on itself to remove it and examining various approaches to trimming it I decided that seacapt's suggestion of trimming it in place with an Exacto knife would be the most feasible.

It took me quite a while to replace the rubber on the lens but I finally found that lubricating its inner side with alcohol allowed it to slip into place easily.

Trimming with an Exacto proved slow but workable and successful and not at all difficult.

Mickey

A few taken with the SP 80-200mm F2.8 and the 140F 1.4x TC. The combination can produce some awesome shots, but is a bit sensitive to high contrast areas, especially when the shot is not 100% in focus. When you hit focus 100% accurate the contrast and color is amazing, and all CA, fringing and blooming is gone even in high contrast areas.

I wonder how this lens would perform with a modern 2x Tamron TC with the DG coating. I would assume that having the DG coating on the rear element would help with any CA and blooming.

Congratulations on the 02B. It is a great little lens. I think you will enjoy it.

That lens is impressive--at least with you using it. Thanks for these panning shots!

These look great--you captured that Terex green--magnificently! I used to work in Heavy Equipment, though the Terex stuff was not much fun--IMHO--I did not like the Detroit Diesels which powered them. They were often overcomplicated, particularly when compared with the competition.
