Btw, what's the smallish AE mean,
Serves the same purpose as the A position on an SMC-A lens. Use with PK/A adapter.

Hood for 24-48mm 13A

I happened to see a particularly cheap EW63-II hood (for Canon 28-105mm usm) so decided to check out whether it is indeed a good solution for the 13A. And I can say it is. A little fiddly to put on and off but a nice snug fit on the bayonet. Doesn't quite line up at "12 O'clock" - twist it round any further and it comes off the splines of the bayonet - but no biggie. No vignetting that I could see even at 24mm update scrutinising pics taken at 24mm f3.5 in LR there was clear benefit vignetting correct around +20 - however I would need to do hood/hood off shots to determine if the hood is the culprit. And it inverts for storage.
Contemplating how one might attach a filter a 72mm is an almost exact, slightly tight fit in the hood. Maybe diy some wee little studs/catches so it "clicks" in? Hmmm.

The one I bought was sold by estores:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261058492292?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageNa...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
but there are numerous sellers of similar hoods.

I wonder also whether other EW63.. hoods will work (there are EW63A/B/C ... mainly for 18-55mm lenses). Does this stand for "end width 63mm? Perhaps a canon user can chip in here?

I've been trying out my 55BB mirror with a newly acquired Samsung NX20.

Some more pics in the 300mm lens club #16358.

I agree with pacer I have pretty much given up on the 01F for use with my 31A or 60B, but the 014F is better, particularly on the 60B. Though I have to take my hat off to your results with the 01A +01F!
Thanks for the advice & the compliment! Marcus, are you really talking about this 31A? Plus the 1.4X tele? Wow, that's a monster - 280-700mm! I suppose you're using that with a Q...

I do have the 01A, but I don't have any long adaptalls - just a 35-135 (22A) and a couple of 70/80-210mm (103A & 158A), none of which I'm currently using and all of which I'm thinking of selling. If I had a quality 300mm like the 60B, I would be inclined to keep the 1.4X indeed. But so far, long isn't my thing. And when I need a little reach, the HD DA 55-300mm has served me very well...

As for macro, the 01F gave me good results with the 01A, so I think it should be pretty decent with the 52BB, and having a 1:1 180mm seems quite preferable to having a 1:1.4 126mm, no? I really don't think the 1.4X is bringing much to the table for me...

I put a Tamron R I (Japan) on my Kx body. The pin is simply too long and NOT Springloaded, and it also sits too deep into the AF/MF slot to be released. After an hour fiddling, finally we followed somebody else's adivce and dismantled the Adaptall mount and released the pin from above. The mount was destroyed but we were more than happy to save my Kx !!
During the dismantling process, the hardest part was undoing the 3 main screws that held the Adpatall together (very tight). The dismantling process took us 15 minutes.
Please see photos.

Yeah gotta watch out for that ricoh pin. Glad you were able to solve it. Save those mounts for use with mirrorless cameras +PK adapter.

Guys, there's a very simple answer to using a Ricoh-pinned lens mount. Place a drop of quick-set epoxy glue over the pin and set it face down on wax paper to harden. Trim off any excess with a sharp blade. I've never had any trouble using this method over many years. (Well, OK, since the first time I had to disassemble a lens! )

Oh, an' pick up a cheap, off-brand bellows set and epoxy that PK face-plate to the camera end of the bellows. Among many other uses, it can act as a variable distance adapter and/or extension tube for many lenses used with a Q-body if you also epoxy a rear lens cap to the front end. Both ends of the bellows are usually removable/interchangeable plates.

For that matter, epoxy it to a custom fit length of PVC pipe for a special use extension tube. Use a glassless filter ring on the front as a adapter for many different applications.

This isn't quite clear to me pacerr. Are you gluing the pin into the mount so it's not protruding?

Yep. Make sure it's de-greased.
