I had the opportunity to shot with one back in the film days - say late '80's - and wasn't impressed with it at the time. Too heavy and 'complex' for us folks attuned to using small primes on Spotties and K1000's.
As an Adaptall fan I'd pick one up at a good price today simply out of habit and to again have a hands-on experience with it but I've no doubt that a good DA 18-135 or DA 55-300 would fill its place in the bag today depending on the day's expectations. I find it hard to love a lens that covers so great a zoom ratio as anything other than a single-lens convenience.
And it seemed HEAVY for its size even then - lots of glass to correct that 6x zoom ratio - I'd compare it to a compact 70-200/2.8 today as I recall it now .
