Originally posted by Piotrek K I just bought copy of 70 - 210 lens (46A) for its P/KA mount. I suppose SP 23A (60 - 300) and modern Sigma 70-300 DG APO should be better, but maybe I can keep it if it is really good. Any opinions? Is it better than 103A?
...well, I have.also some other lenses covering this range.
Anyway I promise to post some test pictures here even if I suppose this one will go to the marketplace at some discount price.
Of the five (4 manual focus and 1 autofocus) Tamron adaptall zooms with the 70-210mm range, the f3.5 19AH gets the best review here at PF, better than the 103A:

The 103A does seem to be available in good condition much cheaper (and more frequently) than the 19AH, and scores a bit better than the other 70-210mm Tammy adaptalls. Your 46A, while scores less well than the 103A in the review ratings, it does seem to rank second best of the 70-210mms. If you got it for what you were willing to spend for an adapter, and it is in good condition, it might be an incredibly good buy, and worth giving a long and good tryout before turning your nose up at it. The tastes of other users in the reviews can't be considered absolute; in fact, they don't all agree. You might pick up a 103A, and find that you actually like the 46A's handling and what you get from it better than the 103A, despite what the reviews say.
