I thought it time to share a few taken with the 90/2.8 Macro 72B

Sankyō Kōki, Komura 135mm f/2.8-f/22

Rowdy Papaver

I do very much love the sharpness and contrast the 72B delivers, though I must admit that managing focus and DOF is much harder than I was expecting. Focus throw is a little tight for other than close-focus and macro distance and managing DOF is very hard for most close focus shots. I am not used to working at f/11 minimum for shots like the Komura lens above.

K-3 with Tamron Adaptall-2 01BB

this new lens arrived today; when I say 'new', I don't mean new to me... this is a NIB/NOS lens that came with all the original paperwork, in the original packaging, and has not a single mark on it... it's like it was in a time capsule....

anyways... I think it may be something special...

Ah, yes, the 24/2.5. I somehow missed noting there was a BB version mentioned in 24mm F/2.5 . Are the cosmetic differences typical of, say, the 52B/BB variant?

2.5/105 (ct105)

Just rediscovered what a pleasurable lens this is. Some portraits with my favourite model.

Slight bloom wide open.

A la plage de Penvins

Stopped down it’s sharp enough for me.

Le chapeau

evolutionary changes to the 01B - it now has a plastic covered distance window, the focus ring was changed a bit, essentially just an update...

I have read that the optics were unchanged, but reviewers disagree with that and have reported that they've noticed better shots from the 01BB (I do not have the previous model, so no idea)...

and shots of her:

I think you are correct, it could be something special and well worth using again and again. Very nice images!

a quick note about the how the 01BB differs from her predecessor: the focus ring on the lens used to be larger and have more of a stand-off from the barrel of the lens; the 01BB, however, has a smaller focus ring and the rubber/plastic that is covered with is actually somewhat inset from the barrel...

I was out most of the day with the lens on my K-3, in the heat of summer, and as my fingers sweated I noticed that the focus ring would become more difficult to easily grip/turn...

an odd thing...

I have several of those lens bands that come with various accessories - I've never needed or used one....

I'm going to test one out on the 01BB to see if that solves it...
