Tried my 18F tube with my SP90 (52BB) on the K-5 today for the first time. None of the larger insects would play ball with me but I managed to get a few small ones.
Unfortunately I forgot whether I should compensate on the FL with a tube for the SR and tried a couple of settings. 100 and 135mm.
No way good macro images but it's all my fault for not using a tripod to offset my shaky body and hands.
Note the bokeh.

K-3 with Tamron Adaptall-2 01BB

I have been hoping to find a decent sunset lens hidden inside the 01BB:

A Wasp eating a Spider (I think it was a Huntsman) while a Crab Spider contemplates.....probably suicide.
K-5 with 52BB and on board flash. Similar image in "show me your insects".
s.o.o.c. jpeg cropped a bit.

I was out of town for awhile and am playing catch-up, hence the tardy response. I am enjoying your 01BB work. I own this lens, but it has not seen much use due to the plastic window falling out not long after purchase. It had been secured with some sort of black goo (not the original?) and while I got everything cleaned up, I have not settled on a suitable cement to put it back in place. Your photos indicate that I may be missing out on some 24mm excellence. Good work!

That was my hope when I purchased mine. The FOV is similar to 35mm on 24x36mm format and I really like that focal length with 35mm film.

Steve

thank you, Steve

I was lucky enough when the NOS/NIB auction went up, but to win such a pristine lens from so long ago is special

the 01BB is such a better lens than the 02B (24 vs 28mm) and more versatile I think...

My one and only adaptall-2 lens (at the moment) is the 02B (28/2.5), and it's been getting a bit of use this summer. Taken with an *ist D:
