K-3 with Tamron Adaptall-2 SP 72B

I was shooting the missus' latest project and her response to the photos was, "Nice, but I want closer..."

out comes Aurora, the 72B:

pepper ridge :: ... i have been watching your posts with your 72b, and so i " b " looking and found one !! ... hey, you are right ... it is even more fun than my 01a ... no sliderule needed !! ... just turn and click .... if you start to get bored with easy good pics, just add an extension or two ... or three ...

.. and it is between this 72b, , 01a, and a 40a ( 35-135 ) to cobble up a slide copier rig ...

Tamron adaptall 01B 24mm f2.5

An anemone that blossomed during the mid-winter summer interlude just ended. K3-ii, F4. You can see the same pic + 1:1 pixel peep crop with a sigma superwide II 24mm for comparison here (nothing in it).

Yes, the weather has quite changed this weekend, with completely different light, the overcast smooth light without many shadows, in contrast to last week witht he high contrast, visible sharp shadows light. But for those from Australia, still much softer than is typical of the Australian summer.

just received my Tamron Adaptall-2 SP 500mm f/8 Mirror (55BB)

cold out and I am a little under the weather so I picked an indoor target
K 3 + Tamron Adaptall-2 SP 500mm f/8 Mirror (55BB) hand held sitting down, using view finder

first of each is SOOC, then some simple pp

obviously, I will need some time to get good with this lens

Aslyfox : i am just getting back into " fun " photography after some 30 years ... i am using a semi-smart camera, with no gyro stabilization .... and mostly adaptall lenses .... i am finding that the more i get my brain in focus, my more my pics get into focus ... heh ...

my elderly camera gets a little dirty above 800 ISO, so in a way the good news is that all of my lenses are sharper than i am in hand-held ... i almost never get to go faster exposure than 1/1000 .... mostly 1/300-600 ...

my first 1000 shots were all hand held for practice setting parameters , while i was getting a tripod rig together .... but i did take some with the camera just setting on a box, with a 2 second shutter delay. mirror up, and focusing with a magnified live-view ... a teaser for what was possible ... dang, a guy could fall into chasing sharpness and ever-better lenses !! ... but fall out of just making interesting pics !! ...

a side hobby of mine is buying " ugly/for parts " orphaned lenses and fixing them and so i think i have a whole range of everything i could need ... except the 500-8 mirror ... so please keep us informed of your adventures with yours, it is interesting that comments on these seem to go from *great* to *not so great* ...

how long can i hold out on one for myself ???

thanks and let's see some more as you go along ...

I hope you get lucky and find one for a price that makes it worth the risk of disappointment if it doesn't work for you.

that is what I found.

I usually don't buy on Ebay [ prefer to buy from members via the market place ] but I do love the name your price option on ebay

and the ability to say no if the seller and I can't reach a price I am willing to pay

BTW, you can filter the market place to show the location of the seller:

Out for a Walk with my 19AH today....

I usually walk with my 60-300, but the 19AH has been a favorite lately. Here's an uncropped, then 50%, then 50% again series of a mourning dove. I'm so impressed with the lens' capabilities in terms of it's sharpness.

Not the lens for capturing Tit images at a feeder, they move too fast mostly but the feeder was swaying backwards and forwards and I had the Tamron 55BB fitted to my K-5 so here is my bird feeder. Colour and contrast seem good to me and quite sharp too.
Another SP adaptall that I think is going to be amongst my favourites along with the 23A and 52BB.

The 23A is, so far, my favorite lens ever. The 19AH is a close second for me.
