I have just taken delivery of a very rare Tamron Adaptall-2 SP 70-150mm f2.8 Soft Focus (51A). Got it for very little on eBay as seller had listed it as a standard 70-150mm f3.5, but I could see from the pictures it was this rare lens.

It is in lovely condition apart from one small fungus spot on one of the front elements. Seems to perform very well, but only taken some test shots indoors as weather is awful.
Well done! That's the "Holy Grail" of Tamron Adaptall lenses, and I hope you'll be able to put it to good use soon. It might not be as popular as it once was because of digital filters, but there's certainly a place for it for moody nighttime or black-and-white grainy shots. Unfortunately, the resolution may not be high enough for high-MP digital cameras -- I'd be curious to find out if I'm wrong!

Without the soft focus mechanism engaged, it is an extremely sharp lens on its own.

Very nice, and a photogenic model. I think the eyebrow is more in focus than the eye.

Model 26A SP Adaptall-2 35-210mm 3.5-4.2

Model 26A SP Adaptall-2 35-210mm 3.5-4.2 is the lens that's constantly on my K-1 on excursions unless I foresee I'm gonna shoot subjects too fast moving for my old age.

This 6x zoom, with the level of quality you can get out of it on a full frame, has no equivalent imho. It's by far my most used adaptall lens and I have a slew of them.
- lba you know what I mean don't you -

210mm 6.3, my goto settings unless I need bokeh
