A more serious question. I can see some softness in the images, but not enough that I would have flagged a lens issue. Is it much worse / more obvious at full resolution or I'm just not looking at to see what you are seeing in these images.
Full resolution the images are very soft in corners and along the left edge / mid frame. They look fine at web size, but at full resolution you can see clear issues compared to the SP 28-80 for example. I also took a few shots of a village at various focal lengths and the central houses were sharp, but outside of that they were a real mess. Could be a bad copy of this lens, as I am sure after all these years you'll get good ones and bad ones and this one has a very stiff focus ring.
What is pleasing me is that the SP 28-80 seems much better than people suggest on full frame, it is not the most popular Adaptall lens (following on from the SP 35-80 which seems a lot more popular). I don't think it is as sharp as the hugely respected Minolta MD 35-70 f3.5 Macro, nor is it as flare resistant, but it offers more focal length and seems sharp enough to me (and flare resistance can be helped by use of your hand, even with the original lens fitted). Not to mention I paid very little for the SP 28-80.
