That's an awesome capture--and I was just checking out the used FA50's on the Adorama website this afternoon. I didn't see the aperture listed in the EXIF data--it's a DOF I would ordinarily associate with at wide angle lens, so I'm curious if you remember how much you'd stopped down? (I suspect I'd really be intrigued by the post processing as well--that sycamore has a lot of "pop.")

f/8, PP in Aperture 3 auto levels, w/ Nik plugins to sharpen and adjust contrast.

Excellent, thanks for elaborating--I've yet to get a passable "tree" picture, and that big limb "floating" out of the top of the frame just delights me. Good to know what's possible.

I really like the FA 28, it has quickly become a favourite. I hadn't expected this kind of rendering of the out-of-focus areas, though. Interesting

Some night time shooting with the FA 50 1.4, the perfect tool for the job! Stopped down to f/2 and beyond it's scary how sharp this lens is.
