Everytime I see shots like theses I want that DA*200 even more, great shots. I grew up on Lake Michigan, one of the great lakes, I miss it.

Thank you. The 200 is a great lens. Really sharp and not that much bigger than the 50-135 -- mostly seems wider, but not much longer. A lot easier to wield than most of the 70-200 f2.8 lenses that are out there.

I must confess the Louisville Zoo is a pretty nice zoo for photographers. It isn't huge, but most of the animals are in open areas and not behind plexiglass that has large numbers of finger and nose prints on it, like many other zoos I've visited. Unfortunately, the area where the lions are housed is under construction of some kind, currently, although my experience is that they spend 95 percent of their days sleeping.

Thanks for all your comments.

I thought about this lens for some time, finally bit the bullet. And I'm not disappointed with it, I'm even wondering why I didn't do it earlier!

- and remember that with its AF/MF switch, the DA*200 is also an excellent lens for Catch-in-Focus:

Playing with 60-250 at my mother-in-law's house in rural Michigan. (used the 1.5x kenko teleconverter for most if not all of these shots. I forget when I went to pick it up)

Hummingbirds are hard to photograph. I had to ditch the tripod because I couldn't react fast enough.

Lol at the rabbit! Reminds me of a beer a local brewery used to make called Evil Rabbit. It was 9%.
