I'll add that I was attempting to catch some of the meteor shower here but as luck would have it they came down everywhere apart from in my frame.
I know both of these issues all too well! Neat shot anyway, ,Might be worth another try to nail focus if you aren't too far. You could do trails instead of meteors.

Great night sky shots above, and the lazy turtle is grand as well!

Another pano, same morning, now with moon...

DA*200/2.8 with HD Pentax-DA AF AW 1.4x Rear Converter

I recently bought this converter in the hope, that it would be a decent match for the DA* 200 - and I am happy so far:

(With Pentax O-GPS1; 26 images stacked).

Very fine capture, Rondec. I did see a couple of fine fireballs, but I didn't catch any.

Nice series, that lens looks sharp enough to shave with.

I would be happy with those too. Nice image of the stack, is that Andromeda? I really have to try out the astrotracer on my GPS unit.

Michael.

Thanks Michael, the DA*200 is a great lens - now I just wish Pentax / Ricoh would make a DA*400/f5.6 - that would be something!!

Thank you Michael, and yes it is indeed the great spiral galaxy, M31 in Andromeda (and its two brightest satellite galaxies). And by all means, if you already have the O-GPS1, you really should try out Astrotracer. It is not a "miracle machine" but still a nice, very portable tool for grabbing the moments of opportunity (= those few nights with clear skies). However, be warned: You might get hooked, and that may then cost you many a good night's sleep......
