@Rondec
Great catch of glowing light. I haven't used my *55 on landscapes yet but yours sure seems more than capable of capturing what the talent behind the lens saw.

Some fireworks for our "Fête Nationale du Québec" a couple weeks ago, taken with the K-3II + DA*50-135
Actually, this is my GF that took those shot, after I set up the camera on a tripod in front of her, and me using the K-1 + DFA 24-70 at the same time. I told here to hold the remote trigger for about 5-6 seconds when she would see the firework raise in the sky.
If you want to compare the results of both combos, just click on the image, there are more on Flickr.

DA*16-50 on the K3, taken while camping over the 4th of July holiday.

Processed in Lightroom.

Through Topaz Adjust. Trying to use these Topaz plug-ins more often.

Not sure which one I like better.

The second IMHO, no question. The light seems more natural.

I have nearly the entire Topaz suite but never have warmed to it. Must be a mental block.

Thank you, I have several of the Topaz plug-ins. The only one I use regularly is Denoise.

This is a local landmark in my home town. Known simply as the blockhouse. Originally built in the 1930's, burnt down and rebuilt in the 1960's, now it has been restored again this year after someone tried to burn it down again.

DA*16-50 on the K3.

I prefer the 2nd one too, the 1st one looks like having too much saturation and/or clarity and/or vibrance...

I thought that myself so I checked my preset for the 16-50. I usually do not add vibrance or saturation to Star lenses since they do not need it. I had sometime to make some adjustments based on suggestions. This is what I came up with. I am wondering about this because since I got my new monitor a month ago I have been wondering if my colors and processing look right. My old monitor was eight years old and I probably should have not waited so long.

If you have a ColorMunki it's probably time. If not you should consider one. They're not all that expensive and it made quite a difference in the color calibration on two of the three monitors I use for PS/LR and even on the third made more subtle but noticeable improvements.

Right I am on the Spyder 4 Pro. It seems to work fine for me.
