My DA*50-135 is back from the dead thanks to UncleVanya, so I used it for what it's best at today. My little man is 2 months old so while I let mama get out of the house for some fresh air I had a little photo session.

touristy portraits DA* 50-135

DA* 50-135 on a K-3ii.

Grand Canyon portraits...how can you go wrong? If i get a bad shot with this lens it is definitely user error.

Some tourist action at Tombstone Arizona. My guys headed into town to tear it up.

Thanks for posting this, Rondec. I always thought that the DA*16-50 took pretty good pictures and this shot demonstrates that. Nice to see Poplar Forest again too.

How do you find that DA*200 to use? Would you say that it is smart thing to do, if one would buy it for K-1 ? I’v been playing around eith idea to buy one...for portraits, events where little added lenght would be nice, nature/scenery(tight comp.) can’t really afford 70-200, but this lens with my M75-150/and or that new lens on the roadmap 70-200/4. Could be good match?

I've completed all lenses from the DA* line and I can say that I tend to like more the primes than the zooms.

DA*200 pairs with K-1 very well. There's no downside I would be aware of.

Another possibility might be FA* 80-200 (if you don't mind almost double weight).

Thanks for the input. Actually I’m travelling quite a bit, so that is why I’d opt for lighter primes & zooms, so 70-200&80-200/2.8 sounds too much to me, even IF I could cough up needed €€€..primes are there for speed, and zooms for, you know what zooms are there for. I was hoping for 28-105 & 200 next on my shopping list and perhaps 31 ltd. Perhaps one 20 mm to get rid of my 20-35.. for the same reason I’d be really happy if they made DA* 20 or 24 which would cover also FF

Thanks again!

" DA lenses on Full Frame: Test Shots thread

Posted By: falconeye, 07-07-08, 16:50 (Offline)

Hi everybody,

I would like to open up a thread dedicated to one topic:

DA lens on Full Frame: a sticky test shots thread.

This thread shall be dedicated to test shots of a DA lens mounted to a full frame body (e.g., a film camera body). . . . The idea behind this thread is obvious: To compile enough data to assess the spectrum of available lenses for a forthcoming full frame DSLR in K mount. "

yes, I looked it up when it was being made.

more so I was interested of Usability in creative way with K-1. it should be almost same FoV as 135mm on K-3. but with better bokeh and so on. Also the thing that some have stated that it is slow to focus ect.

more like general feeling of using it. but this is ofcourse really up to everyone how they find things working for them
thanks for reminder thou
