KP DA*50-135. If I'd had a bit narrower aperture the hummingbird would be more in focus. But I was shooting 1/2000 and already at iso6400. Probably didn't need 1/2000 but I don't get to shoot hummingbird very often. Those little buggers move...a lot.
Amazing photo and little bird!

You did the right thing... Get the shot and don't worry about the ISO, the latest Pentax bodies have amazing ISO performance anyhow.

The K-70, KP and K1-ii have an accelerator chip installed with the sensor to boost ISO performance and it works fabulously.

The IQ from that 50-135 is great.

Wow! That is a very nice picture. I absolutely adore the 50-135. It's probably the one lens I don't want to ever not have. I'd be OK if you took away the rest of my lenses but don't ever touch my DA* 50-135 (at least not until a DA* 50-135 Mk II comes out)

Thanks nocturnal! Coming from a k10d via K-7, low light capabilities are just one of the things I love about the KP.

Thank for the kind words MikeyBugs. Completely agree on the 50-135. Whenever there is a pixie dust threat I’m never the first to nominate it A refresh with current AF would be nice, but I’d use it even as a manual focus lens.

Wow, this is great. Sunset shots are plentiful, but this really stands out.
