Nice shots, the last two remind me of final fantasy.

Wonderful example of great bokeh and details. DA*16-50 is an amazing lens and damn sharp. You can even see the clear waterdrops on the straw of the first picture. Both taken at F2.8. To prove that not all the comments about the bad sharpness and performance at 2.8. are true!

Tougefc, the photos I've posted are Cosplay photos.
The first is Spike from Cowboy Bebop, and 2&3 is female versions of Sephiroth and Cloud from Final Fantasy 7, respectively.

I wasn't planning this but I just bought a used DA*55 and a DA* 60-250 from the same guy on eBay. I just got off the phone to him and he sounded decent but it's still scary. The lenses are 3 months old so I have asked for the sales receipts for warranty purposes.

I'll see if the 60-250 can replace my DA*200 and FA* 300 and go from there. I doubt I'll let go of the 50-135 though but you never know.

The DOF of the 55 is like a 50 1.2 so I just had to try it and if it's as good as you guys demonstrate for me then I'll sell my Sigma 50 (which I really like).

I'll be selling off my 2 50mm A-lenses and a Tamron 17-50 to try and recover some cash..

More debt.. just what I don't need and the terrifying wait now begins.

Sorry guys.. I had to vent somewhere and this seemed the right place.

You won't regret buying the 60-250, its a winner.

I'm also very tempted by the 55, but, as it happens, I'm off right now to meet with someone to buy a DA* 16-50, so the DA55 will have to wait.

nice shots everyone above!

May I ask a question here: I am looking to purchase the DA816-50mm, I would like to know if it is fully extended, does it cast a shadow when using the in-camera flash? Thanks all, and cheers!
It casts a big shadow. It even casts a shadow when it's not extended at all and with the lens hood off. A good excuse to buy an off-camera flash

Richard.

Nice! The DA*55 is an amazing lens that so many pentax users overlook! I really think its one of the best lenses you can get for Pentax.

Be sure to give it a good focus testing, its very common for it to backfocus but once its set up correctly it will blow you away

thanks! I guess bringing off-camera flash+ the lens larger size....hopefully the final IQs are worth it.

Definitely worth it, I think. Actually, the flash doesn't have to be off-camera. Ii use a Metz 48 on top of the accessory show and that works fine.

No flash involved here.

DA* 16-50mm @50mm, f/2.8.
