It's a great lens IMO! I like that first stitched pano a lot, nicely done.

@DarkPrince Really good lighting shots!

I fell and broke my Da*16-50 on the weekend, stepped backward and trod on a fallen bottle. I ended up base over apex and landed with 125kg of body weight on the cam/lens. as they say in the classics - not happy Jan!

Snapped the lens at the mount juction. Same thing happened to my 50-135 some time ago. It had to go to Japan for repairs.

I did'nt even think I would like the 16-50 all that much as I rarely used the kit lens (which has a simmilar focal range), but it has barely come off my k-5 since I got it. I'm going to miss it while it's away in Hospital.

I guess I could also ask them to give the lens a good clean and cal while they're at it. searchig for a silver lining...

Damn sorry to hear that. Maybe you should stop walking backwards or at least take a look before backing up. I almost did the same thing yesterday in fact but thought I'd take a look behind me.. there was a bottle there.

Good thing to hear you`re not in the hospital, one can make a nasty fall like that. Do you think your DA* 16-50 can be repaired?

Fortunately I'm a lot tougher than mere polycarbonate! If the damage is simmilar to the damage caused to my 50-135 a couple of years ago, it should be repairable. The trouble is it will probably cost me almost as much as what I paid for the lens... not worth claiming on insurance either, it falls into that nether region where whatever happens it is going to cost me about $500.
