K-3 & DA* 60-250
I was shooting the moonrise but it was dark enough once it was up that it was hard to shoot with the landscape. Just before was much more balanced light.

MattB, I really love that second shot. The tighter perspective and the color of the light over the horizon and the city lights... It pops, and I think, due to the light over the horizon, it has a very nice depth. It's a wonderful shot.

BTW, I finally got my 50-135 back from repair. I can't wait to shoot with it again.

Thanks guys! I was pretty pleased with the second one in particular too. It also got picked as the Earth & Sky photo of the day AND I sold it to the local Tourism Association. I'm happy about that!

K-3 & 60-250 out for a ski today and saw these guys.

Kind of a heavy lens for this sort of activity but I figured I might see something like this in nice light. So I'm glad I carried it! Skis also made for a pretty stealthy approach that didn't seem to spook them until I was very close.

Some shots during Christmas Day.. went around to test the DA50-135.. my first ever DA*zoom lens...

SDM focus is silent, focus may not be as fast as screw drive, however, it is still usable..

Preparation of decorations for Chinese New Year.. Woot..

Christmas still around..

Finally woke up early enough for some interesting light. Too lazy and too cold out, though, so I just shot these from the house

DA* 16-50. Looking plenty sharp if you ask me... Hopefully I'll get out more since I haven't actually taken this lens outside of the house yet.....

Some very nice work on these last pages, people!

Got out during sunset, unfortunately it went down without a grand finale but I managed to capture this with DA* 16-50 and a ND500:

I took the 60-250 out for an evening ski tonight in a spot I haven't skied before.
Very clear tonight and cold once the sun went down.

I've found the focus quite usable, even in low tungsten light on a K-5 with 100K+ exposures.
