This is the DA *55 shot at f2 on film (not a great photo, but I think indicates it is usable on full frame).

Did you crop at all?
I barely notice any vignetting at all.

No cropping. I scanned negative and fixed dust in Lightroom and bumped exposure about a stop. The 55 is a little tough because it is manual focus only no screwdrive. I do like my autofocus...

After a fling with a 60-250, the 50-135 took me back. The output from the 60-250 was remarkable but I couldn't get over the handling. And found I really missed the 2.8 more than I thought I would. 90% of the time I kept it under about 135 anyway, but when I needed longer, for critters and whatnot, 250 wasn't long enough.
Here's the traditional new-lens-cat-photo:

P.S. dang, nice one matt! love those colors.

I went out to try and shoot some Orionids last night. I was out until 2:30 and saw some but in the quick look I took this morning I'm not seeing any in my photos. Hopefully I find some with a closer look later tonight.
For now, here's some nOrionids.

Here's one of my favourites from our most recent automotive shoot. Car is a 1981 BMW 535i. Lens is DA* 50-135.

Hi Matt, I like these colours a lot. Is there some photoshopping or is it how it came from the camera?

Thanks! I shoot raw so there always has to be "photoshopping" of some kind.
In this case I used Lightroom with Nik Color Efx Pro.

2010 car show, K20 & DA*50-135. Handheld under a open car hood which gave shade. Printed it at 16x24 on Kodak Endura Metallic. This guy had the whole Edelbrock catalog on this Chevy engine. Gave my son a copy last Christmas, printed on glossy aluminum from Adorama.

I took a bunch of images last night trying to catch meteors and didn't get any even though I saw some great ones (where the camera wasn't pointed).
This is 150 of those stacked. I find the softness in the upper right corner a little strange but I still like how this came out. Light painting with my headlamp in red mode.
