The freezing fog makes nice frost on everything.
There was just a little strip of water still open on the river and it enabled the view to the underside of the river ice. Neat shapes!
I LOVE the second one! What a unique view.
Oh yeah, the first one is nice too.

Thanks! We had more freezing frost the next night and yesterday morning even the hoarfrost had hoarfrost! Best I have ever seen!

I don't know if you noticed the purple fringing. Kind of a weakness on the 16-50, I'm afraid.

Hmm, I'm not completely sure which fraction of the shot you are refering to, but I believe that the rendering of colours is pretty much corresponding to what I've seen there on that day.

Two more from the same outing:

If you zoom in to 100% in areas of high contrast (like dark branches against the light sky) you may see purple and/or green fringing around the branches.
The good news is it's easy to fix in Lightroom, with a checkbox.

What Matt said. Branches of trees against a sky if you zoom in will have a purple edge along them. In lightroom it is easy to click that with an eye dropper and it takes that away. Your photos are beautiful, I just kind of noticed that on a couple.

DA *16-50 shot.

Yeah, you're right. It becomes pretty obvious after zooming in. This purple fringing, is there a method how to remove it right away in Adobe Camera Raw?

If you have lightroom, there is a lens block where you can click on the Remove CA button or actually click on an eye dropper and click on the purple color. Then just sync it with other similar photos.

I'm not sure if you don't have lightroom.

Looks like it's possible with ACR.
