Recently returned from a trip to the Everglades of which I basically used to justify my purchase of the 60-250. A couple of early photos with the lens:
My wife calls this the existential cormorant. I find the image is a bit fake looking because of the way the depth of field worked out. The shot is at 60 mm with an f/5.6 aperture and 1/750-s shutter speed.
And the first alligator shot I processed. This one wasn't too happy with the people around it. Basically the same shot parameters except FL = 170 mm (I can tolerate being close to a bird... the alligators aren't as friendly).
My experience with the lens (it's first real field test and not just backyard test shots) was pretty good. I shot it exclusively handheld on my K3. It's definitely at about the limit of what I'd be comfortable hand-holding, but I basically shot exclusively in TAv mode and used the tripod mount to provide the balance needed for my shooting. I rarely used it wide open, mostly between f/5.6 and f/11, and because of the wildlife with shutter speeds of 1/500-s or faster.
