We've had a little too much rain lately and there is quite a bit of water standing around as a result.

Been awhile since I posted anything in here so here are some from my DA*16-50. I am really starting to enjoy this lens now that I have spent more time getting used to it. At first this lens frustrated me to no end. I thought I had a bad copy, but I decided to read up and experiment before I jumped to conclusions. I printed off my own lens calibration chart and made my own set-up. I had to to dial in a +5 focus adjustment and boy did that change things. Using this lens has made me revaluate my techniques and the way I use my camera. When I first started using this lens I was not getting the results I wanted. I decided right away to not blame the lens, maybe it was the photographer. Turns out it was the later and I have no problem with that.

Nice cloud action in those Rondec!

I'm shooting a summer concert series at a local venue that is an old ranch. Last night was a good show featuring the band Whitewater Ramble. Fun family scene going on there and the music was good!

Here's a big ol' flare with the DA* 16-50.
did you use flash to take this?

No, there was a big silver tarp hanging up behind me and that was reflecting some light back which provided a little bit of fill. I also used the shadows slider in LR6 pretty generously to bring back even more detail.

Not the typical zoo shots - nicely done, indeed!

Did you happen to learn the age of the tortoise?

Thank you. I'm not sure the age of the tortoise. They have several there.

A few more with the DA *200 at the zoo.
