These are the first shots from my new to me DA*60-250. In the last several days it has done nothing but rain. So far I had one nice night and by the time I got home it was dark. So I decided to try some night shots. Not the first shots I wanted with 60-250. But I couldn't wait any longer to try it out.

First few shots with the *55...my first star lens. I have been wanting this lens for some time now. Still getting used to it...but I love the feel of it and the silent focusing is really nice (plus it is my first wr lens to pair with the K30).

Unfortunately my DA* 16-50's AF has quit only 6 months after a 'Precision' repair. I'll MF the lens until the holidays are over and then decide what to do. The last repair done in house by Pentax in 2009 lasted 6 years. Oh well.

Would you convert it to screw drive? That's what I would do rather than get the SDM repaired.

No, I'd rather MF the lens. I''ll check with 'Precision" to see if their warranty service will cover it. If not I'll check with KEH to see if they still have some SDM motors available. If not I'll send it to whoever runs Ricoh USA to use as a paper weight. Then again if the rumor about an in house Ricoh service center is true I could send it in to them. Oh well.

Edit: 'Precision' has only a 90 day warranty. The old Pentax in house repair center had a 1 year warranty. Frustrating!

Edit: KEH has gone to a flat rate on repair costs and they're now as expensive as 'Precision.'
