This parade passes 1/2 a block from my place. Due to accurately forecast 40 degree temps and a cold drizzle, parade participation and spectators were down this year. It’s also why I took it as a DA* outing with my DA*55 and DA*300. One of my friends calls that my paparazzi lens. This year I decided to concentrate on people’s faces since the mundane assortment of cars throwing candy to the children lining the streets. Yeah, no marching bands, twirlers, no church floats, dog walkers or trinket vendors and only a couple horses as well.

I photographed lots of children at curbside but I’m a little reluctant to post pix of other people’s little children on the internet without asking permission. I don’t even post my grand babies images online. (Unlike my one daughter in law who asked if there was a camera that would automatically and instantly send pictures to Facebook.)

All that said, when I downloaded the parade pix to the iPad I discovered this young lady. I do not remember seeing her nor taking this picture. Makes me wonder if the DA* 300 not only captures great images but does so without user intervention.

EDIT: I do remember photographing the gentleman. He lives in the neighborhood and who could forget that hat?
