It does many things great. But as every lens it also shows at least one weakness.
This you can see when having very strong direct light within the frame like that of the sun. It can produce some strong flare similar to that of the Irix someone posted - it showed a clear flare ring. IMO that's no wonder if we have a look at how the glass elements appear when we look at the front element. It's a lens for extreme angles and is constructed to deliver the best possible as such I guess - including some compromizes to be made.
If you are not aware of this and don't take care of it, you can get partial flare ring(s) in your capture. Here's an example that I made a bit brighter and lifted shadows so that you'll see it clearly (no further post processing).
#7 and #8 of my last post show a little bit flare, #6 and #9 don't.
It all depends on the angle the rays hitting the lens elements surface I guess.
I suspect the DA15Ltd being better in this area but until now I never tested it against the DA*11-18@15. It also would be a little contest to see the differences of the DA*11-18 using 18@FF vs. 12@APSC (simular angle of view) under such conditions.

To get a little bit better composition I cropped the first capture slightly - so not cropped because of vignetting. The other images are real full frame.
If you want to know more about the lens' limits on fullframe please have a look at my
"comprehensive review" on pf - some hints on filter usage included. So it may be of interest to you.
