Sometimes I like revisiting old images with a new, more experienced eye. The photograph was just a rush snap job in poor light with the 35Ltd, but this scene put a serious smile on my face when I came across it two and a half years ago deep in the forests of Virginia.
It always amazes me the slight changes you can make to improve the look of an image. This was my best effort editing the same shot two years ago:
The differences are subtle and small, yet I can't help but feel I must now revisit other old images to make them more effective. A more thoughtful crop, local white balance finessing, deliberate and careful use of vignetting, tonal adjustments... The things you pick up after spending enough time behind LR and your plugins.
