Nothing spectacular but I was out yesterday to get a large roasting pan for ol' Tom. When I got home I thought to see if it was indeed large enough. It looks like I done good. K5, DA 35mm f/2.8 Macro Limited, 180 @ f/8, ISO 400, partially bounced ST530 flash, very little PP in LR 4.2.

Happy Thanksgiving

Mattb123,
I like the "creeping" shadows.

Captain,
Dreamy light indeed!

These are all K-5 & da40 from today's ride. Today's theme was the moon.

Matt, you are one lucky guy having such a great playground. Were you just lucky with timing these, or was there some planning needed to catch the moon in those interesting locations. The gap would be the most time sensitive I'm supposing.

I agree. This is a beautiful place to live and a great place to be a photographer (or cyclist, skier, climber, skater, etc...).

I've had the moon under that tree shot on my mind for a while and with the moon so prominent yesterday I thought I'd go a little out of my planed ride route to see if it would line up. I actually thought I was late for the alignment and was already thinking about trying to catch it today instead but thought I'd ride over and make sure. On the way to that spot (maybe a mile off my planned route) I noticed I might be able to line up that gap and with some positioning I managed to line it up. I was happy about that but when I got to the tree site and saw I might be able to line that up too I was truly psyched! For the tree I had to balance on a boulder (in cycling shoes) and reach up over my head with the camera and use live view to get it lined up. Fun stuff; I love a little physical challenge to get the composition I want. Adds to the sense of adventure!
