This storm just passed over without the impact it looked like it was bringing.

Beeldmark, great shot. Looks like somewhere in Holland to me ?

---------- Post added 04-19-2014 at 08:53 AM ----------

I have some M series, some Takumars and a few Soviet lenses. I didn't have an M20, last October I came to the conclusion that the price of the M20 was so near to that for a second hand DA21 that I would be better off buying one rather than the M so I got one from Matsuiyastore in Japan, 4 days from Japan to Ireland. When you can't physically see one of these lenses and all your'e going on is photos and hearsay it's difficult to grasp what beautiful pieces of engineering they are. And of course the sharpness, I know members here have been enthusiastic about them but it's difficult to tell from reduced web images how good they really are until you see the result on screen for yourself. So last Monday I threw the handle after the hatchet and yesterday the DA40 and the DA70 arrived, again from Japan. I took them out for a quick trial last night and the sharpness is wonderful, I think the DA40 might have the edge but only time will tell. So now I'm wondering what will I do with my old glass ?

Note that he's beta-testing the still unrumoured K-4!

Oops! One too many K's there.

Isn't 4 a bad luck number in Japan? I thought I remembered hearing that as a reason you rarely see products with 4 in the name.

The character representing 4 looks like the character for death, so many companies omit it from their product names.

In Chinese 4 sounds like the word death and it's basically treated like #13 in the US.
