When travelling with the DA Ltd pancakes can be useful to have the Close Focus a bit shorter than is available on the lens - easy way to get this and still travel light is with a closeup filter. Below pics are with the K3 and DA 40 and a 4x close up filter. Maintains the rendering but gets up close as well.

Sounds like you need the DA 35/2.8 macro....

True - don't get my LBA triggered. I have the 21, 40, 70 and a close up filter that works on all three and fits in a small pouch - saving weight and hip pocket - Filter for $20 as against $900 for the lens...

The 35mm 2.8 Macro Limited is only $496.00 at B&H.

Yep but aussie dollar plus import costs adds 50% to that to reach a high local price.

When I bought the DA70, I thought of it as mostly a portrait lens. But it's so useful for architecture or landscape shots from a distance.
