Hakone, a really beautiful area
I agree - great to get out of Tokyo and into the mountains. Please continue to post your beautiful Japan pics. A couple of decades since I was there but still your beautiful images bring back memories.

Did you do the cable car ride? Did you visit the sculpture garden?

Many thanks. When I finally finish processing these photos I suspect that I will feel quite sorry I don't have more.

Unfortunately we didn't make it to either due to insufficient time. I think we could have quite happily stayed there for several days seeing sites and hiking.

Here are a couple of shots from Hakone with the DA 21mm.

Some DA 21mm shots from the north-east of Spain

This one I converted to B&W to hide the dreaded green blob flare

Nice market shot. Wondering if you ever got any type of reaction from Japanese folks from seeing a European/American tourist taking photos?

Not that I remember. Tourists make up the majority of the people there, at least in the parts of the market that are open to the public, but most of them are Japanese. I think they pretty much ignore camera-toting tourists.

Here are a few from a park in Tokyo, the name of which I don't recall. I cloned out a couple of tall buildings from the first one as I felt that without them the picture looks a lot more rural and tranquil.

What I would have suspected. The Japanese are such shutterbugs themselves that seeing one more camera is probably not really a major event.

The first image is a stitched panorama from the DA 21mm, taken from the balcony of a bakery/restaurant in Alquézar, north-east Spain which sits on the cliff face overlooking this canyon.

Arjay Bee - thanks for the correction of Tsujiki to Tsukiji. You would think with the photo below I would have managed to spell it correctly

I caused confusion for a poor rail worker the day that we went to Kamakura. There was a problem on the line and while trying to ask for help and an alternative way to get there I asked for the way to "Kurakama"

Anyway, here are a few night shots from Shinjuku in Tokyo, where it was tough to use a tripod due to the number of people, but I managed.
