Many thanks. I think it's appropriate that my 5000th post landmark be in the DA limited thread as they're my favourite line of lenses.
Congratualtions and you are so right about the da limited lenses.

Interesting. Looks like the interior of a Moorish water reservoir.

It is an interesting location and is on the Victorian Heritage Register. It's also currently closed to cars due to train tunnel works so now is the perfect time for anyone local who wants to get some shots.

"The Underground Car Park is architecturally significant as an extraordinary example of a building type. At thetime of its construction no other car park in Australia was fully enclosed and concealed underneath landscape.

The vaulted form of the car park interior creates a dramatic and evocative space. The design demonstrates an innovative and imaginative solution to the mundane and utilitarian problem of car parking."

Well they succeeded. It is a lot more interesting than most car parks.

seeking advice

trying to figure out if I want to try to add a SMC Pentax-DA 40mm F2.8 Limited to my SMC Pentax-DA 35mm F2.8 Limited Macro and SMC Pentax-DA 21mm F3.2 Limited

problem is that I already have the " best lens in its class " the SMC Pentax-DA 40mm F2.8 XS

are the differences between the 40mms worth getting the limited?

Hi Sly
The ltd 40 has its own charm but do you need it, its up to you
You have the 21 & 35 so why not add to the series.
Will you use both 40s that is the question
We all like to spend each others money

Wow, very nice indeed. You'd have been kicking yourself if you'd gone to bed and missed that.

The 40mm was the last of the DA limiteds that I got and would be the first to go if I had to sell. The image quality isn't quite as good as the 35mm and of course it doesn't have the macro feature, but the small size makes it very handy. When I go somewhere and take the Sigma 17-50mm for convenience I take the DA 40mm for when a hankering for a limited comes along.

If you're looking for something other than small size and you already have the DA 35mm and 40mm XS then there's really no point in getting the DA 40mm. By all means swap the XS for the limited for the better build quality.

Thanks. I already let it go a couple of times. When weather is good the summer nights are beautiful in Finland.
