@*******: I think the 15 and 35 would be a much better combo than a 21 and 35. The difference between 21 and 35 is noticable enough, but if you want to travel light, you don't really need both (I always leave my A35/2 home when I'm packing the 21). If you like the 35, there's no reason to get a competing lens when you can also get a complementing one.
+1 to this.

My kit is the DA 15 ltd, 35 ltd and 55-300, all in a relatively small bag, which I take everywhere, including hiking in rugged, mountainous terrain. This set perfectly complements each other, and I rarely encounter a scene where this combo is lacking.

DA 15 combo with 35

Urje,

Do you mean the 15 in the completing one?

well i didn't use the word 'completing', but i think a 15 would complement (or add to) a 35, while a 21 and a 35 would compete with each other for more or less the same shots, since they are closer together. So if you have a 35, a 15 would give you more new options, while some of the uses for the 21 are already covered by the 35.

Some I have the same feeling like most of you, I have the 40 for quite some time now, but starting to look at something wider as a complement, 21 is a contender but others say that getting the 15 is a better as you you will cover the 21 by just simple cropping.

my thoughts would be 15, 40 55-300 for travel

I have all those and it's a good combo! For most travel I don't even bother bringing the zoom unless I hope to get some wildlife, just my precious Limiteds!

I travelled to Malaysia for a couple of weeks with my DA21, DA40, DA70, Sigma 17-70 and DA*50-135. I left my 55-300 at home, I figured I wouldn't need >135.

My most used lens by far was the DA21, it's an incrediably useful travel lens. My second most used lens was my 50-135. I think I could have done the whole trip with those 2. Next most used was the DA70, then the DA40, and the 17-70 made it out of the bag just once for a couple of photos @ 17mm. Since then I've bought the DA15 so can't see myself ever using the 17-70 again.

Although I've only owned the DA15 for a very short time, I think the DA21 would be a more useful travel lens if you mainly take pictures of people and urban scenes, with the occasional landscape. If instead you take mainly landscapes with just a few people shots then the DA15 would be better. Ideally you just get both as I have

I got the DA 21m ltd specifically for air travel. The zooms generally take up too much space. However, I could see someone getting by with the DA 21mm, DA 35mm or 40 and DA 55-300mm.

LBA strikes again

Since today I have all five DA limiteds.
First shots with my new 35mm in Rotterdam. This lens is sharp although it does not really show in these rezised pics.

thanks for the pics.
i have both the 21 and 40 but I used the 21 most of the time. I can't get use to the 40, I dont knwo why. It seems always too "long" or nto enough (I'm thinking replaing it by a 70 maybe).

Although when I see your pics I'm very impressed and whish I could take similar shots. Maybe I have to learn in which conditions I have to use it. Any advices >
