Was off work waiting on a tree trimmer to fix up some storm damaged trees, so I went out early this morning to catch the fog in rural Pennsylvania.

Nice shots! I don't know how long the show lasted, but it must have been a challenge to get a correct exposure on the fly like that. Plus I'm sure there were some elbows thrown to get a good spot during a big event like that Great colors on the "Lights Out"

thanks. i think it was an 18min show but it seemed like it flew by in 5 minutes as i was feverishly working to get my shots. exposing for bright fireworks against relatively dark elements is a crap shoot - i was using Bulb mode and flipping my ISO to accommodate changes in brightness, applying slight changes to exposure time, and keeping aperture relatively large. i swapped lenses a few times between the DA21 and FA31.

Mike's bridges are always great but Schmid's Penn farm photos look awesome.

I'm trying to make amends with my DA40 after neglecting for months in favor of my A50f1.7. I had a nice hike in the midst of rain showers. My DA15 was also busy but the K24 and M135 remained in the backpack.

DA15 - Yuntan (Cloud Pool) Waterfall - I took another photo 30 minutes later that shows a significantly bigger waterfall due to the rain.

DA15 - Hiking thru a bamboo forest

DA15 - Heart Lake (it's a pond...) Waterfall

DA40 - Xiangshan Waterfall after a rainstorm

DA40 - The possibly permanently closed Alishan Railway. This was a popular tourist attraction but there are derailments every few years resulting in casualties and it's probably closed forever due to the last one.

DA40 - looking the other direction along the Alishan Railway.

Did these with the 21mm. I still need to learn how to use this lens. I'm just now noticing that the two building pics are crooked. I'll have to fix that later.

Thanks so much Mike.

I also have a feeling that I will really like this lens once I get the hang of it. I can't wait to use it a few weekends from now when we are going to the Palo Duro Canyon to watch an outdoor play. Then in July when we take a trip to Colorado all the way to South Dakota. I'm going to practice a lot before these trips.

I'll give your black cardboard trick a shot for 4th of July fireworks.

Abacus,

I'm going to study your shots. They are all superb and I think I can learn a thing or two from these pics.
