Congrats wed7, I assume it was for your, what makes you smile posted photo, well done. If you don't sell it, and don't need it, possibly you could gift it to a deserving child in your family who has expressed an interest in photography.

@Schimdlapper, Abhir,

You are correct, an almost on the spot photo contest, the theme was announced around midnight before our monthly EB.

FWIW, a Pentax Japan rep, showed us their new K-5 ii s with a <1.0 firmware. we were allowed to play with it, but sample images are strictly for personal use only.

Cross post with the 35mm Ltd thread.

There were a bunch of velvet mites crawling around on a maple tree in our yard. Got my 35mm Ltd and AF160FC ring flash out and managed to get some nice captures, handheld.

My only regret with this set up is you can't get to 1:1 because the ring flash gets in the way (i.e., closest focus is closer than the depth added by the ring flash). So these shots are more cropped than I would have liked. Still, pretty sharp (at least the parts I managed to get in focus).

Velvet mites.....weird. Nice photos. It is hard to get to true 1:1 with such a wide macro, but it's nice to have the versatility.

SpecialK - 21mm Ltd is my favorite lens I think. It seems to be getting you into thorny or prickly situations

Sinjin, amazing macro's from the 35 - great work.

A shot from today's dog walk. Its not SOOC - I've taken some creative license - this lens is so great at catching the light, and the FoV is perfect for this sort of work.

It is probably my least-used Ltd, so I am trying to use it more. Those trees are awesome - don't see many like that out here.

It's about 50/50 about whether or not the DA40 comes along but I'm usually shooting with the DA15 or DFA100WR. Here's one with the 40 and one with the 15 from a week and a half ago.
