I shot a gallery opening at the Burke Museum in Seattle on Tuesday night. I had was feeling pretty ill that day and had actually stayed home from work. But it was my girl friends first gallery show and the culmination of her Natural Science Illustration certificate program so there was no way I was going to miss it. I took the da 40 and it *really* delivered in some pretty nasty shooting conditions. No flash allowed, dark rooms with bright lights pointed at the walls, plus an entire wall devoted to a power point presentation of the graduates art.
My favourite shot is this one:
I took shots of all of the art because one of the classmates couldn't make it to the opening. I tried to snipe little moments of interaction between people with an emphasis on the people from the class. It was pretty challenging but a lot of fun.
