Was interested whether this picture was representative of the 21's intrinsic color rendering.
When you shoot in RAW, you need to work on colors and other stuff!
But when you have a lovely lens like DA21, you can get much better result than when you have DA18-135!
In fact I've done that, and saw the output with my own eyes!
I've shot some waterfall photos in one spot with both of these lenses, some with this, some with that. while both had a polarizer on (Same brand) my shot with DA21 after my normal PP (Which was the same for both) had much reacher and better colors than the shots with DA18-135!
And even then, I didn't notice it myself, but when I posted all together here, some forum members pointed that, I went back to Lightroom to tweak photos of DA18-135 to make them look like the DA21 output, but it wasn't easily possible for me.
I may later search them in my photostream and post the example for you.

I'm privileged to own the DA21, DA40 and DA 70 and while working my way through the excellent material in this Club I was curious to discover which of the DA Ltd's lenses seemed to be the most used.

By my very rough calculations, made over the last few days, it seems to be the DA 35 Ltd, not I suppose surprising as it is a great all round lens functioning both as a normal lens and also in macro mode. If you take the crop factor into account it has a local length of 52mm, the standard focal length in Full Frame, supposedly the field of view of the human eye, interesting.

The DA 21 comes in a close second, again that's probably not that surprising as it is close to the popular FF 35mm lens. It was the first Ltd lens I bought as I wanted a wide angle and it was not that much more expensive, second hand, than an M20 I was looking out for and had a better reputation, after that of course I couldn't stop.

The DA 40 comes in a fairly close third, I was a bit nervous when I bought mine as I never really liked the field of view of the FF 50mm lens in film days but I can safely say now that just that little bit of extra focal length makes it my favourite.

The DA70mm comes in fourth with the DA 15 tailing the field but as it has it's own thread that's probably not surprising.

Of course this is just an approximate tally of available published shots in this club and the reality could and may well be totally different.

I like the small discrete size and light weight of the series, particularly useful when working in public areas as they don't tend to draw people's attention in the way that big glass zooms do.

It's a pity that they stop at 70mm, a light and tidy 100mm or 135mm would, from my perspective, be a welcome addition.

Kind regards,

CD

Would definitely love to see a DA LTD 135mm. I can just imagine the photos it could produce... telephoto perspective, with that gorgeous, trademark DA LTD style of rendering images.

If you consider the amount of photos posted in DA15 thread, I'd guess it's the first in this group.
