DA70 K70 Colours on Kilgobbin Strand Co. Kerry, then I wandered into this churchyard near the strand and found this plaque on a tomb, John O'Shea was killed just 23 days after my father was killed in Sicily.

Love this Japanese series. Wondering if you are there as a tourist . . . or something else.

Many thanks. Going back through the photos, PPing them and posting I'm really starting to see the benefits of going with my DA limited primes for the trip instead of the Tamron 17-50. There's nothing wrong with the Tamron, it's just that almost nothing can touch the DA limiteds, especially the 35mm, in image quality.

I was there just as a tourist. Up by those temples in my last couple of posts there were a couple who seemed to be on some sort of pilgrimmage - they were stopping and bowing in front of the statues and I remember thinking that they'll take a very long time to get to the temples themselves as there were dozens of statues by the road.

Here are some more macro-ish photos from the DA 35mm

Yes, I agree on the Tamron I like it for its zoom versatility, and it does offer overall good image quality but not in the same league wioth my 31/43/77 limited lens set. It is also hard to attain focus in low-light situations. My wife calls the 77 our magic lens. I have no experience with the DA limiteds, but have heard good things about them. Your Japanese series has been a great success!

Many thanks again. Here's the latest installment. Hopefully I'll get through a few more today as my wife is pestering me to finish so that she can continue to put together the photo-book for the trip that we're going to have printed.

All DA 35mm

50mm 1.8

Very nice photos but there's no 50mm f/1.8 limited lens... if it's the DA 50/1.8 I think there's a thread for it somewhere.

Great photos Jonathan. What a place! The electrical infrastructure is pretty surprising. Wild urban landscape for sure, well captured.
