I'm discovering lens clubs I didn't know about all the time. Some I'd never looked for, before I had the lens in question (Hello 35 Limited!); some I looked for to help research purchases (Hello Raynox 250!!), others I've just missed, period. Maybe they multiply while nobody's looking...

But now that you've found it, as another recent joiner myself, I say welcome aboard!
I also just joined this thread. There are so many lens clubs I could post in, it gets a little confusing. Had to look to be sure this was the Raynox and not the macro anyway possible thread.

Thanks for sharing,
barondla

I’d like to see some 645 lenses tested. The size of the 55-300 image itself may influence that result. I think the final result is like the HD 1.4x rear converter where the final image size is different depending on the lens attached.
Good point! I'll try the 645 A 120 macro to see how it fares vs the K-1 with DFA 100 macro. There's also the 645 DFA 55, and 645 FA 80-160 zoom to try. Once I figure out which lenses work, the appropriate step down adapters will be ordered. Don't trust the Raynox quick adapter for long term use.

Thanks,

barondla

I’ve got two Raynox quick adapters and both seem to have held up with no issues, but my Nikon and Canon glass diopter lenses all use step rings. The rings aren’t as convenient but they work well.

The ladybug is a favorite. Love the sharpness and color. Well done.

The quick adapters are OK, but the Pentax AF160FC ringflash will be hanging from the front Raynox. It's heavy and I don't want to see it crashing to the ground. Also, the quick adapter can be moved off center while gripping a lens. 3 - 6 decentered elements can't be great for image quality. I'll live with metal adapter rings.

Thanks,
barondla

The ladybug shot is great! X marks the spot. Great use for the F35-70, which I also have, but don't use much because I like the 16-85 so much. The large filter diameter of the latter makes it less convenient to use with the Raynox: in fact I don't think I've ever used that combination. I would think results would be good once you get past the focal lengths where vignetting would be a problem.

Thanks! It's a fave of mine, too.

But to me the caterpillar image is more interesting, just from a technique standpoint. DCR-150 + F 35-70 + K-01. The caterpillar was near the center of a bush, so I had my right arm fully extended through the branches, and I could just see enough of the LCD to somewhat view the subject. The combo was so light it was easy to hold steady, and AF was very fast because the AF range was so small - the lens didn't rack at all. With something like the DA 35 Macro if I missed initially there would be a long, noisy wait until I attained focus.

Bubbles in hand sanitizer.

Pentax K-1 with Pentax DFA 100 macro and Raynox DCR 150 & 250 stacked. At F32 and shooting thru the clear plastic container, the sharpness isn't too bad.

Thanks for looking,
barondla

Not sure if this is a cross-post (maybe from the projector lens club) ...

Shot using a 100mm Diaplan projector lens, with a Raynox M250, on bellows with a 8mm circular aperture cut out of roll film backing paper.all handheld together, at around 3:1. The liquid drop has a diameter of about 0.2mm.

Good work.
Imagine the bellows and rail era when sheet film was routinely exposed at f64, and some "process lenses" were optimized for that aperture. BUT, I'm not sure, once adjustments are made for the differences in focal length, that more DOF was obtained than with a 25mm lens set at f16 on an MFT camera. Your have to look at the charts because the change in DOF with aperture is not a linear function of focal length
