Only looked at pics in the camera so far, but they look kind of OK at 1,2, even at far distances.
My SMC-A 50mm f/1.2 is terrible wide open when shooting beyond 7-10m; I need to stop down to f/2 to start seeing it clean up.

I'm not a '1.2 player' but I enjoy seein' what can be done with the F 1.2 aperture.

So I got to thinkin' (my bad), what would happen if you opened up the F 1.4, 1.7, 1.8, 2.0 lens by over-expanding and gluing, or removing, the aperture leaves to get a wider F-stop on the cheap? (Besides maybe screwin' up a perfectly good lens? (How 'bout one with a bad aperture ring ? How 'bout a cheaper 28 or 35mm lens? )

Yeah, I know, the F 1.2 optic formula is a factor too, but edge image quality isn't the only point of shootin' at F 1.2; and as someone recently reminded us, what's the point of shootin' at less than 1.2 when you've got it so a permanent "modification" wouldn't be all THAT silly.

Anybody tried it?

@ Porga:
Very nice powerful red.

With f/1.2 even flat face cat can be 3D
