Sure was... you stole that from me! Overbid my maximum by about $25.

So I bought the Porst instead.

Nice photos! And yes it is tough to focus with the shallow DOF.

Sorry! I was also looking at the porst but in my heart I wanted an A-Pentax 1.2. Had to go all in. Just won another rare piece of glass- pentax 28mm f3.5 shift lens.. just full of wins this past week! Will be posting my current m50 1.4 & m28 2.8 for sale soon.

More 1.2 photos to come!

Got a chance (again..haha) to flaunt the K 50/1.2 on a photohunt 'on the street' last nite.. yes off course flashes and umbrellas everywhere.. and some just won't accept the fact that there are actually 1.2 lenses

I just bought my first Cosina ƒ1.2 55mm. I'm waiting for it to get here. I'm looking to buy the Pentax K ƒ1.2 as well.

I thought it would be neat if people who owned an ƒ1.2 would post their best photos taken ONLY at ƒ1.2!

(Since that's why we're buying these lenses and not a ƒ1.4 or ƒ1.7 or ƒ2.8!)

So anyway, I was wondering if any proud picture-snappers would post their photos taken ONLY AT ƒ1.2 (FROM ANY LENS, MAKE, or MODEL... as long as on a Pentax camera of course!)...

Thanks!

They probably would not accept that Cosina Voigtlander makes some f1.1 and Leica makes some f0.95 lenses (Noctilux with a tag price of about $10,000).

Similar... but definitely not the same The lenses have different construction.
I compared many shots from the 2 on the forum here before buying the Revuenon.
The Porst appears to be less sharp (in relative terms) wide open, but at f1.2 the dof is so thin it is difficult to nail the focus where you want it with any lens.

Have a look at some samples (searching the this f1.2 thread and also the "Cosina 55mm f1.2 club" which has examples of both)

Some more samples of the Revuenon

I would expect you could find the Porst for much cheaper than the Revuenon/Cosina/Tomioka version, and the Revuenon/Cosina for cheaper than a Pentax K 50mm f1.2.
I decided to sell all my Pentax equipement, but that is impossible. I kept the K5 and the Takumars lenses and the Revuenon 55/1.2. This last one is definetly the best f1.2 lens I have had.

Sorry to cross post, but has anyone else had problems using their f1.2 lenses in live view? I'm having an odd issue and it only happens with the Porst f1.2:

Never had that case. Also remember that f1.2 will perform better in low light situations. If you try to use any f1.2 in a sunny day, you will get glare. Also, use a hood and a polarizer in sunny light.

Using the Lens Turbo

Here's a street portrait I shot with my SMC Pentax 50mm F1.2 lens on the "Lens Turbo" focal reducer on a Sony NEX-3 body. So instead of shooting with my K-5 and having an eqiuvalent 75mm FoV and F/1.7 for DoF (in 35mm terms), it's more like an equivalent 54mm F/1.2 or so. I didn't think that one stop of DoF would make a difference, but it's very noticeable. At least to me. The lens is not very sharp at F/1.2, so I did add some sharpening in the eyes a bit.

Canon FD L 85mm F1.2

Lots of great shots. Impressed by that Cosina!

Some shots from yesterday while testing my modified Canon FD L 85mm F1,2. All wide open of course.
The lens has infinity and works just like an M or K lens with green button stop down messuring. Not necessary for these f1.2 shots though but great for more normal use.
