Just got the A lens today! Took some really crappy first shots. Apologies in advanced for my poor photography skills. I will improve! I promise!

Here's the best one, wide open, of course:

Now that I've tried it, I must agree, the focus on f1.2 is really really hard to grab.

just don't get frustrated easily. this might take time, but the fruits of one's hardwork are very rewarding.

a split prism focus screen can help too. before i had it, i would bracket focus everything when using 1.2 and hope i got one locked in. it is tough to do, especially with my ageing eyes.

Hahah Pentaxor and I are forever pictured in forum history. That said, the band of focus is really apparent. It's tiny!

Thnaks, yes there are some but not much, increasing the contrast mainly and playing with the colors.

Can't agree more, I have been using it constantly and it has increased the number of shots with accurate focus enourmously for me compared to just using the viewfinder.

Here are two more shots from the same day

When you read the sharp words from top to bottom, you get.
"lens ... best one ... tried ... frustrated ... focus ... locked."

2. Great stuff, Downfall!

Just posted these in the K-x picture thread, but figured I'd post them here too since they are at f/1.2

These are my faves from all the bellydance photos I've taken. Also, all taken with no flash and high iso.

How did you catch the focus with them moving so much?

I find I have to pre-focus and snap away, and maybe 1 out of 50 is in focus - when people move like that.

Moving or not, from prehistoric times, man has always found a way to catch those things in focus, no matter what he's looking through.
