Great series ! The purple fringing in the first one came out quite severe .. did you attempt to fix it somehow in post processing ?
Didn't remove it, and the post-processing I choose seems to boost it

Prices on 1.2 lenses seem to vary greatly. Some of them spike pretty high sometimes. WhenI bought my Porst, I paid about $265, and a couple weeks later got annoyed because the going price dropped to about $200. Now it seems to be listed in the 450 range. But looking at sold listings, not too long ago it was selling in the 200-300 range.

That's my convoluted way of saying "Just set up a search on ebay and check it every few days, prices will probably come down eventually"

Using the Porst 55/1.2 for what's left of the single in October lens challenge. This first one is x-posted from there:

All of these were taken at Fernwood Botanic Garden in Southwest Michigan.

K50mm F1.2 Astrophotography

Was trying out the 1.2 aperture for Astro shoots, using the 500 rule, this was noisy but not to bad I thought. Its the large magellan cloud.

That's something like ten thousand times better than my attempt to try astro with my Porst. Very nice.

Thank You. There was an amount of PP put in to it. But the lens does alright, would like a OGPS to try with the lens.

Very interesting. I looked up 500 Rule and found this very informative article, which I thought I would share.

The porst has that "ethereal glow" thing going wide open. Tack sharp, it's not. I gave up after about a half hour of trying to focus it on stars. All I'd get were blobs. Sometimes I suspect the lens simply doesn't focus to infinity. But as a general rule that's not what I got it for, either.

Maybe it focuses past infinity, you could stop it down as well. I thought my lens was out of whack, but it was me, did not have the camera set up right.

Some old ones

I don't post often, but I decided to share a couple photos I took with a Cosina 55 (At f1.2 of course). These are from a concert I was at last year. I use a K-r.

it is amazing, I can fill the same 1.2, but I did not even think that it is possible so use it!

Ok I can finally join the club since the move to Fuji, I picked up the XF56 f1.2 as part of the move. Fantastic lens here are a couple of modest examples (I've been spending more time with a tak 55 because of Siongle In)
