Last of Dolce's available light session pics with the FA*85. I definitely need to use this lens more...

smc PENTAX-FA* 85mm F1.4. It is great to see so many fine examples of this wonderful old lens in use. I loved mine and these make me kind of miss it.

Really like this one! I like what you did with Sharpen AI too.
Eric

PS: Just curious, have you noticed Sharpen AI does weird things sometimes to background OOF items and bokeh ? Especially water and ripples etc. Sometimes I have to do the subject-only selection to sharpen, then invert the selection and just use Sharpen AI at a different setting to just let it clean up sensor noise or just sharpen certain other objects more gently.

Thanks Eric... I beleive you it can add artifacts in the background !
Actually, I normally don't apply the sharpening no other than on the subject. So, to start my workfow, I use the auto-subject selection, and sometimes, I add or remove some part of the mask, trying to limit it to the main subject only...
Also, I found that auto selection of sharpening model do not often work, so I try a couple other models manually, until I am satisfied... I don't want artifacts and I choose the most "natural" method at the end... (that's time consuming, because my laptop is not the fastest, take 10sec to 1 minute for each method maybe ~ 20s average)

Unpublished Series ~2014

Light was pretty dull on that day. I was able to recover this so-so image with some PP in Lr.

saw this club for the first time today and thought I'd post some pictures. I love the F* and FA* and these lenses are also a big reason why I don't just work mirrorless with my other system.
I hope you like the pictures.

Great shots! You seem to have a nice star lens family.

K-1, smc Pentax-FA* 1:1.4 85mm IF + extension tube 1, wide open. By adding an extension tube, and thus thwarting the close range correction of the internal focusing, one can turn the FA* 85mm into a nice soft focus lens.
