I got my membership card today! F*300mm came in from Japan. Bought it off the auction site in "Mint" condition...and it arrived as such. Can barely tell it was ever mounted on a camera, and it looks like it just came out of the factory package. Blew my budget on lenses for the next 12+ months, but I am very pleased so far. The build quality of this lens is phenomenal, the AF is amazingly fast on my K5iis (and not as noisy as I was expecting) and the test images I took are SHARP!

I hope to get a bunch of wildlife pics this fall.

Hi Imrich. Those are very nice photos, but they should be in the Lens Club for that lens (SMC Pentax-F 35-70 F3.5-4.5 Cult Club - PentaxForums.com). This one is for the old Pentax Star (F* and FA*) lenses – if you’re unfamiliar with the terminology, the asterisk isn’t the wild-card character that it is in other contexts, it’s actually part of the lens naming.
