Street shots with the 10-20 -

This young lady won our "shortest dress of the evening" award.
This lens is a lot of fun for street photography. I'm definitely going to do some more.

For now, here are a few recent shots:

First, today, my wife was driving, so I wrapped my camera strap around my forearm, held the camera out of the window and grabbed this shot. If I try it again, I'll work to get the composition a bit more sensible, but it's still a fun shot, IMO.

Second, a shot from a couple days ago of PWD's attack on our street.

Sau, I love how you use UWA in the 2nd shot--refreshing, and eye catching. More of us need to catch on to doing this with our UWA. The shot would benefit from removing the edge of the 2nd flower on the right edge though. The other shots are nice too.
Thanks for your suggestion and glad you love the photos.

Ok. I've been threatening for months but I finally did it. Bought a copy of the the slower non HSM version from a forum member and got it today. My dog wishes I'd get out of his face but it's too late in the day to get out and take pics. ;-)

Beautiful, "Less is More" type shot.
Especially good for a 1 sec exposure.

Very nice... I love the way this lens renders color. I don't feel like it needs a polarizer.

Actually I use CPL on this shot to reduce excessive reflection of the water surface, this lens + K20D RAW performs very well I can easily bring out the detail of the shadow part (the trees) on LR and maintain the actual colors.

Well, it certainly came out nice! Here's why I don't feel like I need a polarizer (for skies, anyway):

I indulged in some HDR yesterday. HDR is like soda pop. It's best to avoid regular indulgence, but now and then, it can be fun.

(sorry about my shadow in the photo. It was unavoidable.)

Yes you're right.. even without polarizer the colors pop out just fine. Love the HDR on the second shot, it's a very smooth HDR.. how many shots did you take?

LOL... I don't find HDR particularly annoying when it's used this way (mostly to extend color and detail into both the shadows and highlights). It's the massively tone-mapped ones that drive me crazy. Nice images there. I like 'em.
