Originally posted by JinDesu I think F8 is the limit of sharpness on that lens, so shooting smaller than F8 isn't going to get you better sharpness. The lens does well from 12mm-20mm, it's the 10mm that is the weakest. Designosophy touched on an important part when trying to compare 100% crops from an 18mm lens to a 10mm lens. Maybe try shooting at 18mm and compre the two and I'm pretty sure that the Sigma will do better.
Huh??? F/8 is the obvious point @ which APS-c diffraction sets in--
ON ALL LENSES! The Sigma 10-20 (f/4-5.6 version, especially) is at its best. or dam close enough to it, @ 10mm (MTF scores @ 10mm & 14mm are too close to call)--this is some of the magic of the lens.
And Mr Designosophy is correct, corners are best starting @ f/11, continuing to f/13. Sophy=wisdom btw.
It is simply amazing what this lens can do @ 10mm, particularly when you look at its production date.
