You could also use the selection wand tool and Content Aware fill option to fill the edges. Sometimes it works pretty well, sometimes not. Depends on the pic.

Always worth a shot.
Yeah, that's true but the few times I've tried that it's never really worked all that well. It worked okay for skies but not so well for ground level objects.

True. But if you really want the whole shot a little hand work after the content aware fill can be worth the effort.

This one required a fair bit of manual cloning on the left side to look right, but I think it's better than the crop would have been. Of course, using the tripod and shooting in portrait mode would have been better still. And then sometimes it just doesn't work at all.

Here's one from Saturday. I didn't see the little girl run into the frame but I'm glad she did.

DS, 10mm, ISO 1600, f5.6, 1/45 sec

Really great shot - but the little girl makes it great, as opposed to just good!

you should be glad she did. She made the shot! The comparison of sizes is just terrific here

Agreed, and the shot takes on a surreal quality as well, further enhancing its appeal.

Thanks everyone. I really am happy that she "ruined" my shot and maybe I'll work it up for submission to the Exclusive Gallery. They could use a little more "perspective" in that gallery.

Likely a bit overdone, but just having some fun messing around with a bit of HDR in Photomatix. 5 exporsures combined, then b&w conversion. Really impressed with what this lens can do.

Sigma 10-20 in Russia

Here are a couple of shots from my first trip with the 10-20. I like this lens.

Hi,
Would someone be able to do me a favour and post some images shot at the different focal lengths- ideally at 10 and 18 so I can compare the extra width of this lens?

Also I've noticed the lens isn't cheap! Are there any cheap alternatives for wide angle shooting?

Cheers,
pa.
