This lens is awesome. The field of view is so wide I caught myself turning my camera to portrait orientation too often.
I have to get used to it. So framing is a bit tricky.
Its the slower version but I am shooting f8 and smaller so it wont make a difference.
Here is one of my first attempts

Looking at what's new & see lots of great contributions.

John Araki Here's a graphic I made of different focal lengths, starting w/ the S10-20. It's in *.png format so it can be overlaid as a reference. Posted it in another thread, but felt it would probably be appropriate here as well.
John, nice diagram, with much utility!

These colors are fantastic, yet realistic--coooooool stuff. Is there a lot of out-of-camera PPing here?

Great HDR! How many shots go into making the one we see here? You are a fast learner, finding out quickly, how to put UWA to creative and intriguing use.

Well, thanks for your comments.
Maybe I overdid it with the clouds, but really they were awesome.
So there were 3 exposures done with HDR efex Pro.
After that I did some pp with Phototools to give the grungy look.
I will post some more soon.

JT there is very little PPing on these shots. They are OOC jpegs with a only very slight amount of level adjustments and cropping.

First shot with Sigma 10-20

Well after a few test shots, learning what and how to use the lens, I'm posting my first pic.

This is an HDR with minimal processing - my first HDR actually

New photo? Was it really that nice in Rhode Island recently? It looks like a beautiful warm day.

Three more from this lens - lately I've been trying to work out whether to keep this or the 12-24.
Woww.. I see you got fantastic pictures in your photoblog, love them all

I have been lusting for a UWA lens for several months now. I had read all the reviews and compared value for money and decided to get the Sigma 10-20 f4-5.6. I ordered it from B&H and it arrived in Oz in 4 days. Thats very good, full marks to B&H.In Australia this lens is about $700, so i was very happy with B&H price of $479.

Here are a few of my first photos.

Peter
The sharpness and colors are stunning.. $479 sounds unreal. In here you got a used one @ that price.

Fantastic clouds.. typical UWA lens which I really love.

I wish it were RI yesterday--it is cold and rainy here for 2 days now. This is a shot from a June vacation (2010), in beautiful Maine.

Hey, nice, kind complement--thanks. The zoom range of the 10-20 is a treat because it is so versatile. This lens, more than any other I've tried, really grows on you.

Thanks, I've been avoiding the HDR for a long time, but this lens seems like a perfect match for HDR processing (at least light HDR processing).
