Thanks for the kind comments Tamia and UpNorth.
I really love this lens. With regards to the photo I feel I was really lucky on that morning. The sky could have been more fiery... but I like it nevertheless.

After looking through this thread and other UWA photos throughout the internet I have been lusting after one. I ordered the 10-20 from Adorama on 3/9 with the free shipping. The UPS guy rang my doorbell in Chicago before lunch today with my order! 2 thumbs up for UPS and Adorama on processing this order! "Lenses so fast you'll freak" should be their motto!

Anyways Ive never shot one before and it takes some getting used to. Here's my first attempt. Nothing fancy.

Hi Falke & Welcome:

Were you able to get the 2 second exposure with f11 alone, or did you need an ND filter? Was there a polarizer on the lens? I know what you mean about a more fiery sky, but the subtle golds here are marvelous and unbeatable in my opinion. WOW! JT

Hi Cat & welcome: I love the shots and your commentary--I just got home from my job with UPS. It is unusual for someone to complement the company in this way, though commonplace to voice criticism. JT

Thanks Jewelltrail
Yes, it was one single exposure with f/11 alone. Unfortunately I don't own a ND filter yet, however, I was able to apply a gradual filter (3EV) in post using Adobe Camera Raw. I also upped the saturation by 100% - and I like the result. To begin with the shot was all bluish - due to manual white balance set at 5500K - corrected to 7500K and the golds came out with the saturation increase.

Falke, thanks for describing the technique used for your photo.

Justin (thebigcat), welcome to the Sigma 10-20 club! I'm betting you'll love this lens. I've had mine only for a few months, but already it's my favorite. Great first shots.

Rod (Madhatter), what a sweeping shot. Super perspective. Well done.

JT, for the record, I've been very pleased with UPS. The company has delivered to me everything from lenses and cameras to bicycles and furniture. The tracking system and service has been great.

Love this shot. Looks like Notre Dame - but it could be a lot of other churches which also have the round window. This lens with help of the keen eye of the photographer can really bring out the best from City, Land and Sea Scapes.

I finally succeeded to add a jpg from flickr: 2.5s, 11mm, f/13, ISO200

Kyramus, I love the mood you created in this HDR.

Madhatter, I too think the perspective you treat us to with the Westminister Abbey shot is "super, " with amazing sharpness.

Falke, please, keep'em coming.... All this new stuuff is invigorating the Siggy 10-20 Club--wonderful place to visit.

Tamia, I sure do appreciate the UPS thuumbs up.

I don't understand why people complain about UPS. I order a LOT of stuff online. I probably get 5+ shipments from Amazon alone per month. And maybe once in the last year has my package come late. My UPS guy delivers consistently around 5pm, which sucks when you're eagerly awaiting a new lens But it still amazes me that all of these packages get to their destination, on time, almost every time. Just think about the logistics involved, next time you want to bitch about it....

it's not because of logistics, but because mainly of this >>> https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/general-talk/95920-how-ups-customs-canada...my-lenses.html

hope this makes you understand. :ugh:
